Keith English - Shake: Hollywood Visual Effects Instructor

DMA Instructor Keith English

Courses

  • Shake: Hollywood Special Effects

Keith English strayed into animation from Industrial Design 12 years ago, while working on a project for Reebok, using 3D modeling applications, and goaded by the question, “But can you make it move for us?” And the bug had bitten.

Working initially in Softimage he transferred to Maya 6 years ago, realizing that Alias’ application was truly “bottomless” in its abilities, and facilitated a constant “Yes,” to any “Can you do this?” question.

Keith has worked on movies and TV projects for such clients as Disney, Cartoon Network, Pepsi, Turner Broadcasting and TLC as well as many industrial clients. He is currently working on a character animation feature project; providing effects for a series of 12 IMAX movies and continues with many TV advertising projects for some of the top Hollywood Effects houses.

He wrote the initial Softimage to Maya tutorials for Alias, and has beta tested many of the 3D animation applications. He shares with us not just the prospect of learning Maya, but also an absolute passion for the world of animation.
