Over the final two days, students will take the video produced during the first part of the week and encode it to final web delivery format. Modules will include a review of best practices of large broadcast and corporate sites, a comparison between the most frequently used video formats, then individual sections on encoding each major format for streaming or progressive download using tools like Apple Compressor, Adobe Media Encoder or Sorenson Squeeze. Students will create simple Flash and Silverlight players and upload videos for viewing on the web.
The two major sections will be offered separately so that students wishing to take just the first three days or the last two can do so.
