About Brown University
Brown University, founded in 1764, is the seventh oldest institution of higher education in the United States. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, Brown University is an eminently esteemed private university and has been ranked second by Princeton Review for having the “happiest students” among American Colleges. Nicknamed the “Renaissance City,” Providence allows visitors and students to indulge their senses while expanding their minds. This unique New England city is home to a diverse population and boasts unique architecture. The city also has ample shopping, dining and entertainment on the vibrant Thayer Street.
DMA’s program at Brown is a special collaboration between the Brown University Summer & Continuing Studies Department and the Digital Media Academy. Students who plan to attend a DMA Teen Course at Brown are strongly encouraged to also consider the residential option. Residential teens will attend DMA courses by day and participate in Brown’s Pre-College Program by night. The residential program is run exclusively by Brown University and is a unique opportunity for teens to experience college life at an Ivy League school. DMA is a separate entity and not otherwise associated with or sponsored by the Brown University Summer & Continuing Studies Department.
