DMA Campus: Northwestern University

Northwestern University brings you up close to one of the great U.S. cities: Chicago.

Location: Evanston, Illinois
Why It’s a Great Place to Attend Summer Camp: Only a few miles from Chicago, Northwestern is located along the shore of Lake Michigan.

Northwestern is a Big Ten sports powerhouse that has also produced an amazing number of famous actors, directors and writers (such as Seth Meyers, Zooey Deschanel, George R.R. Martin, Zach Braff, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Stephen Colbert).

It’s a center for scientific and technological research, too. Northwestern is home to the Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics, the Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center, the International Institute for Nanotechnology and the Argonne/Northwestern Solar Energy Research Center.

DMA Campus: Rice University

Get that southwestern kick by attending DMA tech camp at Rice University in Houston.

Location: Houston, Texas
Why It’s a Great Place to Attend Summer Camp: Rice has a cool, southwestern vibe and is located within the Museum District of Houston, one of the leading cities of America’s “Sunbelt.”

It’s always been a haven for science and research; President John F. Kennedy spoke at Rice Stadium in 1962, telling the crowds that the U.S. intended to reach the moon by the end of that decade.

Rice has always been a brainy place, and in 2010, the Times Higher Education review ranked Rice first in the world in the field of materials science research. Rice has also been at the forefront of research related to nanotechnology, space sciences and structural chemical analysis.
